Check out these short Quicktime videos from the Adam Slander studio session: Minidoco, Neve_Speaks, Bram's_a_Slob Melbourne's finest Jewish punk band have been scaring and amusing audiences for a while now and finally we have a plastic disc that demonstrates the power and veracity that one can achieve when music and religion are combined in a way that doesn't involve prayer, choirs or organs... YIDcore demonstrate a fine punk aesthetic, namely fast guitars and some fucking melody, that seems sadly lacking elsewhere in the punk spectrum. (They make) punk funny, cool and decent without resorting dick jokes. This demonstrates the beauty of YIDcore. They take the traditional Jewish dichotomy, fuck it around, and make it punk, flying int he face of convention. A very cool, in-your-face quick, thrashy punk EP. Jaymz Clements. Beat Magazine. YIDcore come out with their tongues firmly planted in their cheeks and balls so big it's a wonder they can walk. It's funny and it's silly... but it's also surprisingly kick ass punk rock. Vice Magazine. These
Melbourne boychicks have put together a package that will have you plotzing
with laughter... (The songs are) full-throttle, punked-up affairs, cranked
along by blazing, choppy guitars and spot-on drumming... It would be
a shonder not to own this record. Time Off Brisbane Fucking weird... you know full well that Yidcore most definitely have their tongue firmly planted in their cheeks... Bizarre to say the least. The Electric Newspaper. Everyone loves (or should love) a good piss-take... These six tracks are smart, sassy rockin' fun belted-out hard and fast in true punk-rock style. You can hear a touch of some of the greatest punk bands in Yidcore's sound... If you like punk, and you want to piss off a certain over-rated, overpaid actor, buy this CD, and encourage everyone you know to buy it. Hopefully it will go multi-platinum and put you-know-who back in his place. Vibewire (see whole review here) |
